Tippett Gets Hall Nod

Former Patriot linebacker and five-time Pro Bowler Andre Tippett has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Associated Press reports.  Joining Tippett in the Class of 2008 are Art Monk, Darrell Green, Fred Dean, Gary Zimmerman, and Emmitt Thomas.  In a career spanning 11 seasons (151 games played), all with the Patriots, Tippett amassed a franchise record 100 sacks.  Tippett recorded an astonishing 18.5 sacks during the 1984 season, good enough to have him tied for eleventh for the all-time single season sack record (Michael Strahan is first on that list with 22.5 sacks during the 2001 season).
