Sorry for being a little bit late on this one, but yesterday the Patriots signed seven year veteran linebacker T.J. Slaughter. Slaughter last played in 2006 with the San Francisco 49ers and did not play one down of football in 2007. The 6'1 233 lb. Slaughter has played for Jacksonville, Baltimore, Green Bay and New Orleans in addition to San Francisco. While he's not expected to be a starter, Slaughter brings depth to a position that sorely needs some and will compete for his share of playing time in training camp. Perhaps most importantly, it will be fun to use a name like "Slaughter" in our posts throughout next season.
