Pats' Elder Statesman Faulk Cited For Pot

The Boston Herald is reporting that Patriots veteran RB Kevin Faulk was busted with 4 joints while attending a Lil Wayne concert at the Cajundome in his home-state of Louisiana.  The joints were found concealed in a pack of cigarettes during a routine search, leading to Faulk's being cited for marijuana possession.  The Pats have no official word as of yet and Faulk will be receiving a letter containing a court date shortly.  Rumor has it that Faulk attempted to claim that the weed was being used for therapeutic purposes after suffering that devastating Super Bowl loss and when that didn't work he said he was just celebrating the Bruins' winning four in a row... just kidding.

For a team that prides itself on the superior moral values of its players, coaches, and personnel, the Patriots certainly have their hands full as this is the second drug-related incident the team has had to deal with this offseason.  Faulky will have a lot to answer for, but this is a far cry from the charges (including intent to distribute) that Willie Andrews is facing.  Not to downplay the extremely questionable nature of Faulk's decisions, but maybe the Louisiana sheriff's department should be more concerned with Lil Wayne performing blazed and hammered, getting arrested for possession three times himself, and telling everyone in attendance to get crunk instead of Faulk's need to blow off some steam by burning a couple down and kicking back with friends at a concert, but that's just my humble opinion.  That's not exactly the route I would personally take, but to quote the age-old axom, to each his own.
