Aaron Ward Re-signs with Bruins on 2 Year Deal

The Bruins have been pretty busy this offseason. On the heels of their re-signing of Chuck Kobasew, the club has announced that they've come to an agreement on a 2-year, $5 million deal with defenseman Aaron Ward. The 35-year-old played in 65 games last season and compiled 5 goals and 8 assists. His individual stats may not be that impressive from a fantasy standpoint, but Ward was a key figure on the penalty kill and power play. Also more telling of his importance to the team than his goal and assist totals is the fact that the team was a +9 last season when Ward was on the ice. He finished fourth on the team in time on the ice (20:44), third in hits thrown (143) and first in blocked shots with 119.
