Julian Tavarez Joins the Milwaukee Brewers

Former Red Sox RHP and Manny Ramirez confidante Julian Tavarez has signed a deal to pitch the remainder of the season with the Brewers. The 35-year-old reliever was designated for assignment by the Sox back on May 12th and after no trade offers came Theo's way, Tavarez elected to become a free agent rather than accept his Triple A assignment. The bulk of Tavarez's value came in the long relief role and his ability to spot start on a moment's notice, but with the surplus of starting pitching the Sox are currently enjoying, Tavarez had apparently become expendable. With the news of the signing we now know Julian won't be pursuing his childhood dream career for at least another few months.
