Sports' Spitting Images - Brian Sabean & Phil Jackson

It's been a while since our last SSI because of all the other newsworthy happenings lately (and at least partially because we're a lazy bunch of bloggers), so we're back and better than ever with quite a humorous look-alike for your viewing pleasure (if we do so say ourselves). This one struck both myself and The Ignorant Bostonian while enjoying the NBA Finals.

Leading off we have San Francisco Giants GM Brian Sabean. Sabean's been under fire most recently for what's become one of the worst signings in recent memory, and that is, of course, the $126 million Barry Zito deal. The folks over at Hardball Times have some cool stuff chronicling Sabean's quite questionable decisions, including this piece that depicts Sabs' propensity for signing older players. In the 2-hole we've got the coach of the Western Conference champion (Hey Phil, if you're not first, you're last!) Los Angeles Lakers, Phil Jackson. In addition to his 13-year playing career, Jackson's widely considered one of the greatest coaches the NBA has ever seen. Unfortunately for LA fans, that history of winning couldn't help him and his Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals.
