Celtics Ink Center Patrick O'Bryant
Boston.com's Marc Spears is reporting the Celtics have signed Patrick O'Bryant to a 2-year deal. The 7-foot, 260-pound center averaged an unremarkable 1.5 PPG and 1.2 RPG. His numbers are far from impressive but O'Bryant's still got plenty of potential. His talent led the Warriors to draft him 9th overall in 2006, but he never played much and only averaged 4.3 minutes per game.
It is not clear yet where O'Bryant will fall on the depth chart, but the athleticism, size, and shot-blocking ability he possesses give him the potential to be a solid backup center in the NBA. Not to mention the fact that he brings a true Irish name, which, quite honestly, this team has been lacking for a long time.
