I wouldn't want to be lumped in with him on any other basis, but count me among the Pete Sheppards of the world in that I think all the media coverage of a possible Brett Favre return is bordering on the absurd. I mean ESPN even has an entire section of its 24-hour ticker specially dedicated to him now. The guy definitely deserved a large amount of hoopla, so to speak, when he officially announced his retirement; he's a living legend. However, all the current coverage of his back-and-forth with the Packers over his desire to be released (and his lack of desire to return to Green Bay as Aaron Rodgers' backup) is nothing short of ludicrous.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm Brett Favre'd-out for the next 4-8 weeks. As they said over on Boston Dirt Dogs, "Unless Favre can pitch the 8th for the Sox, who cares?"
