Dusty Breaks Up Lackey's No-No, Youk Homers in 9th
Not quite, Big John.
On the night that the Angels upgraded tremendously by adding Mark Teixeira to their already impressive lineup, John Lackey (9-2, 9 IP, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) proved it's not always all about offense. The LA of A ace kept the Sox hitless through 8.1 innings until Dusty nabbed a single with 2 outs to go. After that, Youk connected on a 2-run homer, finally putting the Sox on the board and ending Lackey's shutout. It's sad that this is about all we have to be happy about tonight, but seeing as how the Angels seem to own the Sox lately, I'm just glad we didn't get embarrassed in our own house.
