Pierce Handcuffed in Vegas Dispute
Looks like the post-Championship celebration is still going strong. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Celtics captain Paul Pierce had to be restrained by handcuffs after he became heated during an early morning traffic stop today.
As if David Stern needed another reason to dislike The Truth (remember the whole gang-symbols-on-national-television fiasco?). Pierce was stopped for driving erratically down the strip around 3 AM, and according to the report, Pierce's previously high temper cooled down real quick after the cuffs were slapped on his wrists. After he blew below a .08 BAC (when has that been the case with an athlete lately?), Pierce was allowed to leave without being arrested or charged. Could be worse.
In spite of the fact that this will amount to nothing in the long run, I'm sure the Celts aren't entirely happy that this is the way their 2008 NBA Finals MVP is making headlines in August. I guess if you're a world-class athlete, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas (just ask Javon Walker).
