Did I say Broncos +3? I meant Pats -34...

Wow. Didn't see that one coming. Here's a few things I think I know after watching yesterday's 41-7 romping:
Backup backs enough to get the job done...
...At least against a shitty defense. 257 yards rushing with Maroney and Jordan both sidelined. Morris (138 yards, TD) was downright explosive in the first half before leaving due to injury, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis (65 yards, TD) was solid as his replacement, as well. They'll need those contributions to continue as Maroney's heading for the IR and Jordan's had trouble staying healthy all season.
What defensive woes?
Only 275 yards of total offense allowed, a pair of picks, and three forced fumbles against one of the league's most potent offenses... I have a feeling we're lucky Cutler wasn't at 100%. Still, it's nice to see an effort like this on the heels of such an ugly showing. On a separate note, Seymour picked up sack No. 2 (and 2.5) on the season, but you'd think it was his tenth the way he was celebrating. Also, don't expect Rodney back for a long time after seeing the way his knee bent.
Gostkowski's still money in the bank
2-for-2 with a long of 40 yards tonight. Like I said, money in the bank.
Even in a "great" game, Cassel still not that great
I prefer to look at this more in the light that Cassel didn't lose it for the Pats as opposed to him actually going out there and winning it for the team. Yeah he had three TD passes, but he had just 185 passing yards on 18-of-24 passing, good for a mediocre 7.7-yard average. The running game won't look that good every week, so Cassel needs to step it up, learn how to make his deep pass a bit more accurate, and evade a few more tacklers (sacked 6 times tonight, bringing the Pats' season total to 26 allowed).
Wilfork's wallet - not his weight - may be noticeably lighter tomorrow
In the course of two plays, big Vince cost his team 30 yards with unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness penalties. You can count on the Pats "handling this one internally," whether it means chewing him out in meetings or perhaps even fining him some amount of green.
