Four is the lucky number

We've been lacking in Celts posts lately, so here's a fun little tidbit for all you sports fans that bleed green out there.

Should the 23-2 Celts up their current winning streak to 19 (no small feat, considering they're currently four games away at 15), they will be in sole possession of the record for the best start in NBA history.

At this point, only the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers and 1969-70 New York Knicks, who both went 26-2 through their first 28 games, have ever gotten off to a better start before losing a third game.

And now you know. And as they say, knowing is half the battle.

In related Celtics news, it looks the the team dodged a bullet as Paul Pierce is expected to play tonight after working in a shootaround prior to tonight's game. Had Pierce gone down and missed a decent chunk of time, it seems likely that their lack of depth - i.e. the loss of James Posey - would have finally been exposed. Good thing we won't have to find out.
