The Broncos are in love with BB's sloppy seconds

Per ESPN and AP reports, the Broncos are set to make Josh McDaniels their next head coach. McDaniels, 32, replaces 14-year head coaching veteran Mike Shanahan.

In the Broncos, McDaniels inherits a pretty solid offensive team. Brandon Marshall is one of the most explosive receivers in the game, and Cutler is a gun-slinger. If he learns to keep his mouth shut and quit spouting off shit like "I have a better arm than Elway had," McDaniels could help turn him into a legitimate top 5 (or so) QB perennially. Denver needs to get some consistency out of their backfield, though. They'll definitely address the position in the draft with possibly their top selection being spent on an RB.

Where things get a little dicey is with the defense. Remember when Denver traded to get Dre Bly from Detroit and people were talking about the pairing of him and Champ Bailey like they'd be the best CB tandem in the game? Well, the never exactly panned out, but if McDaniels and co. can add a couple difference makers (not necessarily big name guys, but people with experience and heart), they should be alright. It's a very interesting opportunity for one of the league's best bright young minds. We certainly wish him well, except when (and if) the Pats face Josh's new team.
