His 'luck' runneth out, time to find a real job

Lucky, aka Damon Lee Blust, aka the dude that "wows" Garden crowds with acrobatic feats such as dunking a ball after jumping off a trampoline, is no more. In related news, I could care less. According to the Herald's Inside Track, Lucky was making six figures for this sweet ass gig. His downfall? Not showing up to mandated charity events and general unreliability.

Whoa, wait a minute. This dude's pulling down at least $100 K per year for doing as little as 41 days of work and gets to watch every Celtics home game from the best seat in the house, and he won't show up to Dana Farber and huge a few sick kids to keep his cush job? What a douche bag. Every time I've been to a C's game in recent memory, I've watched and generally enjoyed Lucky's antics (more in a "Awww, that's cute, he's trying so hard" kind of way, not the "Holy shit, look what he just did!" kind of way), but in these tough economic times, they can definitely find a more appropriate use of those reported six figures. His absence certainly won't detract from the overall atmosphere at the Garden, especially now that we've got a legitimate cheerleading squad slash dance team to ogle, but in a weird way, I'll miss Lucky. Seeing him do all that stupid crap at halftime always helped make me feel better about my life, regardless of how shitty a day I might have been having. Either way, will ANYONE (including heterosexual females) be upset over the fact that the Celtics dancers will be spending more time on the parque?

Oh yeah, lest I forget, Lucky dropped this gem, apparently attempting to claim that his firing was in part a mutual decision. A disclaimer: know that Boston Sports Buzz in no way endorses the notion that Lucky is a "professional athlete." He may have been a pretty decent high school gymnast at one point, but there's no way he's anything close to a "professional athlete."

At 33 I’m not getting any younger, and like most professional athletes there comes a time to step out of the spotlight and focus on a career that can be sustained at an older age.

Even after being terminated, Lucky leaves 'em laughing. Definitely more entertaining than his usual routine.
