Papi to play first base in World Baseball Classic?!

According to an ESPN report that aired on Baseball Tonight earlier today, Dominican Republic manager Felipe Alou has decided to play David Ortiz at first base in order to get both Hanley Ramirez and Jose Reyes in the lineup every game during the World Baseball Classic.
Uhhh, really? I know Felipe Alou is basically a living legend in the game of baseball, both domestically and abroad, but what the fuck is this guy thinking? Ortiz is coming back from a busted wheel (actually, a knee) and he's played a grand total of 27 games at the position over the past three years. Throw Hanley in centerfield where he should have been playing all along, keep Reyes at short, and let Papi DH for Christ's sake. The last thing we Sox fans need is to one morning be hit with the news after a DR game that Papi has blown out his knee, or taken a fastball off the wrist, or messed up an elbow diving (rather, rumbling in the basepath then falling to the ground like an Oak in the forest) to make a play, or whatever else the lumbering lefty could manage to get himself into in the field. Please Felipe, I beg you, keep Papi at DH. The hopes and dreams of Red Sox Nation are pinned on your decision-making ability. Make the right choice, man.
