NHL suspensions/fines continue to be a joke

Really? $2,500 for sucker punching a guy who still has his gloves on and clearly isn't looking to engage in any sort of sparring match whatsoever. Seriously?

Yet another example of the joke that is the NHL's disciplinary office. Rangers coach John Tortorella gets slapped with a one-game suspension for squirting water at a Caps fan, Donald Brashear gets a six-game vacation for a pair of transgressions this postseason, and Scott Walker possibly fractures a player's orbital bone and he gets this bullshit penalty? I mean this is the very definition of the phrase "a slap on the wrist." Unbelievable. I'm not gonna go all homer on you and claim he should be suspended for the rest of the series or even multiple games, but a one-game layoff would certainly seem merited here. Is a little consistency from the NHL's governing disciplinary body so much to ask for?
