BenJarvus Green-Ellis could be around for a while...

125 yards on 29 carries, 3 rushing touchdowns, 4 receptions for 22 yards... if there's anything more you can do in the most meaningless of preseason football games when you're lining up with a no-name under center (Brian Hoyer, for those of you who still don't know who No. 8 was), your most explosive play-maker is one of Sam Aiken or Terrence Nunn, and not one starter is on the offensive line to prove you belong on a team, I don't know what it could be.

It's easy to read too much into this game — in fact, I'm sure the "media pundits" at WEEI and the Sports Hub are already calling for Green-Ellis to dip into Taylor's and Maroney's touches — but let's face it, the Giants weren't playing with a full deck of cards, either. However, BJGE did more than enough to ensure himself a spot on the 53-man. I mean did you see Belichick pseudo-molest him after his final touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter? It had "I'm going with 5 RBs and am happy about that" written all over it. Prior to last night there had been some serious speculation that either Green-Ellis or Sammy Morris could be on the chopping block, but for the sake of depth, I feel pretty good knowing BJGE should be sticking around and could step up and at least be serviceable if the need arises.

On a related note, thanks for playing, Chris Taylor. Better luck next time!
