Fuck.  That's all I can say.  What a freak injury.  I realize season-ending surgery was always a prevalent option, but this is most likely a nail in the coffin.  If the Sox can survive the upcoming trip to Yankee Stadium and take 3 of 4, there's still hope.  But it is a very real possibility that after this weekend, the 2010 Boston Red Sox will be looking towards 2011.

If you told me the story of this season would be waiting on players to get healthy, get ready to make a big post-season push, and then lose your best player right as players are starting to come back, I would punch you in the stomach.

That's the worst story I have ever heard, and no one would go see it in theaters because it sucks.

But that is how it's gone so far and the only word I can think of is FRUSTRATING.

You're talking about a top offense, defense, and starting rotation when healthy, but they literally just couldn't stay healthy.

We'll see what happens in the coming weeks, but it doesn't look good right now.
