Delgado Del-Got-It!

Always wanted to say that and have it mean something. There are a couple reports out right now that say the Red Sox have signed geriatric 1B Carlos Delgado to a minor-league deal.
Delgado worked out for the Sox' scouts and staff yesterday at Yankee Stadium before the Sox took Game 1. The Red Sox scouts and staff are some of the best in the game so they must have liked what they saw yesterday, which is a good sign.
Delgado hasn't played a Major League game in over a year and only played in 26 games in 2009, but hit .298 with 4 bombs, 23 RBI, 15 runs scored, and a .393 OBP in those games. Because I like hypothetical useless information, if he played that whole season, he would've been on pace for 25 HR, 143 RBI, and 93 runs. So, hopefully, he can hit a little bit for the Sox.
Overall, more people will laugh at this signing than not, but a guy with Delgado's history is well worth a look to see if he has anything left.
