Sox Claim Damon

I was going to think of a funny/witty headline about this, but the shock value of that statement should do you just fine. That's right, a bunch of reports came out today that say the Red Sox have claimed former Jesus, Johnny damon. You seriously can't write this shit.
The Tigers can still pull him back, but Johnny Damon could very well be a Red Sox in a couple days. The Sox might have claimed Damon just to keep him from getting to the Rays or Yankees, in which case it is already a good move.
Personally, I never had a problem with Johnny Damon, honest to God, and I'll tell you why. The Red Sox low-balled him thinking he would never leave because he was so loved here. But Damon called their bull shit and signed with the Yanks for 12 million more than the Sox offered (Sox offered him 4 years, 40 mil...Yanks gave him 4 years, 52 mil).
Timeout. Think about the situation for a second. If you had 2 offers on the table at your job, and one was for 12 MILLION DOLLARS MORE than the other one at a different company, would you leave? HELL YES!!! Why do you think 10's marry dudes 10 times older than them? Because they like taking them to the doctors and watching them read books all the time? Seriously though, most of the people in the world would leave. Fact.
Also, Johnny Damon was one of the most entertaining players in Red Sox history, both on the field and off the field. Off the field, he was the man here. Ladies and gay guys wanted to f him, guys wanted to party with him, there were even What Would Johnny Damon Do bracelets made, of which I have 2. On the field, he always went all out, and played his best game in a Red Sox uniform in arguably the most important game in Red Sox history, Game 7 2004 ALCS. Damon went 3-6, with 2 bombs, 2 runs, 6 RBI, and a stolen base. This was all highlighted by his grand slam off of Javier Vasquez when it was still a tie game.
So before you let your anger towards Damon's departure get the best of you, think about the great things Johnny has done for the Red Sox organization and the great times he's had here first.
