Pats Preseason Thoughts - Game 4

Giants - 20  Pats - 17

Overall, it was a pretty average game.  Even though Eli Manning reads at a 3rd grade level, he had a solid night against a Pats D that, again, looked very suspect.

Not a ton of thoughts this week, as the only people that care about the 4th preseason games are the players that might find themselves working at Shenanigan's next week (Farva shout out).  You men Shenanigan's?  You're talking about Shenanigan's, right?

Thoughts

- Rob Gronkowski is skyrocketing up the list of dudes I have a man crush on.  Right up there with Johnny Boychuk and Big Baby.  One play after f'ing up his route, Brady goes right back to him for a TD.  It's obviously preseason, but he looks like he's going to make many defenders his bitch in the red zone.

- Even when the D blitzes, it just looks poorly timed and slow in getting to the QB.  With virtually no pass rush, the Pats are going to have to blitz a lot, so that's not good.  Eli Manning made one blitz look like a joke last night.

- Brian Hoyer again looked like he could start in this league going 15/26 for 266 yards, 1 TD.  He did throw a pick to St. John's Prep's own Jon Goff though.

- Darnell Jenkins might have played his way on to the team last night.  he had 5 receptions for 93 yards and a TD.

- Taylor Price had 2 sick catches, but did not drag his feet to stay in bounds.  Step your shit up, Taylor.

- Rob Ninkovich beat the shit out of the Giants' 2's and 3's.  he had 7 tackles, 1 sack, and 3 tackles for loss.

- Zoltan Mesko put 2 of 4 punts inside the 20 and had 1 punt that was over 60 yards.

Worst Offensive and Defensive Performance
CBS

That was the most pathetic broadcast I've ever seen.  Literally every couple of minutes the video would get choppy and they would switch to regular definition.  Then they would go back to HD and the cycle would start again.  Terrible.

Anyways, the Pats ended up 2-2 in the preseason and now we're a little over a week away from the big boy games.  Can I get a hell yeah?!?!
