The NBA is...Stupid!

You gotta love Tommy Heinsohn.  The dude is 76-years old and still throws down like he's a young blood.  Some might call him subjective, but I call it corrective.  In an age where most announcers are so afraid to speak out that they sacrifice their talents and opinions, it's always a welcomed sight to watch Tommy go off on a ref or, in this case, indict the entire league in general.

He's one of the few guys in sports that says what the fans are thinking.  It's fantastic.

The more important story here, though, is how much the Celts are going to get screwed this year with the new technical foul rules.

*Side note*  Think of how the NBA has handled this situation thus far:

They find out Tim Donaghy fixes NBA games after the FBI does.  Then, they call him a rogue referee and said he acted alone as if anybody believes that he didn't have PIC's (Partners in Crime).  Then, instead of investigating how unbelievably terrible and crooked some refs are, they give those rapscallions more power.

Say whaaaaaaaat?  That's embarrassing.  Maybe make sure the guys who are enforcing these rules won't use them for their own personal gain before you worry about giving them that power in the first place.  Baysh.

But, if last night was any indication, the Celtics shouldn't even play the games this year.  Listen to how absurd these new rules are:

"Referees have been instructed to call a technical foul for:

-Players making aggressive gestures, such as air punches, anywhere on the court.

-Demonstrative disagreement, such as when a player incredulously raises his hands, or smacks his own arm to demonstrate how he was fouled.

-Running directly at an official to complain about a call

-Excessive inquiries about a call, even in a civilized tone."

Okay, so, just so I got this straight; I'll be fine as long as I don't speak while running at a ref in a zig zag manner while dropping air kicks all over the place.  Got it.

I really don't have to say anything.  You all know these are absurdly ridiculous expectations.

But, I will say if they call quick T's on Luke Harangody, they sure as hell better call them on Lebron and Kobe too.
