Theo Has a Thing for Fatties
The Red Sox announced their final 25-man roster today and on it were LHP Dennys Reyes and RHP Matt Albers.
This means that RHP Alfredo Aceves and LHP Hideki Okajima will be sent to AAA.
This is surprising if you do math at a 3rd grade level. For real human beings, it's a smart move by Theo. Both Reyes and Albers pitched well this spring and were out of options. Also, both Aceves and Okie Dokie did not pitch as well and have minor league options.
Aside from looking like his face is about to explode off of his face, Dennys Reyes deserved to win the LHP job. He was by far the best lefty this spring and he's been consistent over his career. And Fat Albers had the best ERA out of any Sox pitcher fighting for a job during spring training (I think I remember seeing this stat, but I'm too lazy to look it up, so don't quote me).
So Theo kept them all. That'll do, pig, that'll do.
