That is the first picture of the Patriots' rooks in their jerseys. From left to right, it goes Shane Vereen, Ryan Mallett, and Stevan Ridley.

Fucking Bill Belichick. Already starting to have sex with other coaches' minds. Giving Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley the same number.

What an advantage. You think you have a Kevin Faulk-type pass catcher in Shane Vereen lining up in the back field and then, BOOM! Stevan Ridley busts it up the middle of your nickel pass protection for 30 yards.

Seriously though, that's awkward as hell. You know they both showed up like "oh sweet, Sammy Morris is gone, I'm gonna get 34."

Buuuuuuuut then they both show up in 34 and have to take their first picture in a Pats jersey looking like an idiot.

My guess is Vereen gets it because I think he's going to be much better. A lot of peeps say that Vereen was better than Jahvid Best while they were both at Cal.

Oh yeah, and Mallett looks like a coke addict, which I believe he actually is, so that's good.
