Baseball's Name of the Day: CHARLIE FURBUSH

Inspired by a couple funny names some of us were lucky enough to witness during this most recent Sox series against the Detroit Tigers, we've decided to come up with a new recurring series called "Baseball's Name of the Day." No set schedule or anything like that for this bad boy, but with the rate of youngsters getting called up from the minors whose names I've never even heard these days, it's a safe bet it'll run quite a bit.

Lame intro aside, our inaugural name of the day honor goes to Detroit's CHARLIE FURBUSH.

For obvious reasons, Mr. Furbush was the perfect pick to start us off here. This is just an assumption on my part, but I would bet good money that even Charlie himself has a tough time not laughing when he sees his name on a baseball card. Furbush is listed as a starter on his ESPN player page but we most recently saw him shut down the Sox in 5 innings of relief back on May 27.
