Rich Peverley: A Poor Man's Superstar

When the Bruins traded for Rich Peverley at the deadline this year, Boston radio was filled with questions.

Rich who?  Who is Rich Peverley?  What position does he play?

But I, being a man of infinite hockey wisdom, knew exactly who Rich Peverley was.  What I didn't know was how much of an impact he would have on such a deep team.

Rich Peverley has been invaluable for the Bruins this playoffs.  That's just a fact.

I know a lot of people might question that statement, but it's because Peverley does things that go unnoticed extremely well.

When you pause to think about what he has done this postseason, it's uniquely staggering.

With his promotion to the 1st line last game due to Nathan Horton's injury, Peverley became the only Bruin to play on every single line during this memorable playoff run.

But not only that, he has also played every position.  So he's basically been a utility guy on horse steroids.

It's really incredible to think about:

1) He's the 2nd fastest guy on the Bruins next to Seguin who has elite speed.

2) He plays in every situation: 5-on-5, 4-on-4, power play, penalty kill, etc.

3) He has been solid on face offs winning 52% of them.

4) He can literally play any position.

5) He has one of the best shots on the team, although he doesn't showcase it enough.

6) He's incredibly responsible defensively.

7) He has a sick playoff beard.

You absolutely need guys like Rich Peverley to win a Cup.  Fact.
