One NL Scout on Will Middlebrooks: "He's a [Fucking] Stud"

I think the guy said "fucking."  The original report by Alex Speier had the quote as, "He's a [expletive] stud."  But we're not running a kindergarten over here at the Buzz.  This is America.  And America uses big boy words like "fucking."

But I was talking to former Boston Sports Buzz poster YouABadMang today, and he mentioned doing a post about the two Sox prospects in the Futures Game.  And I said, "that's not a bad idea, might hafta do that today."  To which he replied, "haha woooooord."  So that's where we're at right now.

So without further-a-dudes, Sox prospects Will Middlebrooks and Chih-Hsien Chiang (literally just took me 4 minutes to spell his name) took part in the 2011 All-Star Futures Game on Sunday.

Middlebrooks went 1-for-2 with a single in the game and Chiang went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

But I guess Middlebrooks and Chiang are really not fucking around this year...mostly Middlebrooks for the purposes of this post.

Here's an article on Chiang for all the Chiang lovers out there.  I don't know a lot about him, but he's hitting .323 with 14 bombs, a .378 OBP, a ridiculous 1.008 OPS, and 47 XBH in 71 games at Double-A Portland.

Now on to Will Middlebrooks.

I always thought Middlebrooks was kind of a nerd who wouldn't really make an impact in the minors.  Clearly, like with most things, I was dead wrong.

In 63 games for Portland, he's batting .315 with 9 bombs and an impressive 43 RBI.

The 22-year-old Middlebrooks is 6'4" and athletic as shit.  He has 20-30+ HR potential and is elite defensively, so he's sick.

But keep an eye on Will Middlebrooks and Chih-Hsien Chiang because their futures looks bright as hell.
