Pats Bring Back Sammy Morris for Some Reason

Sammy Morris' agent confirmed today that Sammy will be a Patriot for one more year.
I love Sammy Morris. He's a good locker room guy, a great special teams player, and a solid short yard runner.
But why the fuck would you bring back an injury-prone RB when you already have 4 RBs under contract?
I guess that's why Bill gets paid to do this shit and I don't.
I can see why this makes sense, but I still think it's stupid.
Reasons Sammy Makes Sense
- Great special teams player
- Proven veteran RB that will help Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley immensely in a shortened preseason
- Pretty good short yardage guy
- Creates healthy RB competition in camp
- If they keep him as a FB, it works
- Rosters expand to 90 players so an extra vet might not hurt
I just made a lot of good points there. Enough to sway my own opinion, actually. So I kind of like the deal now.
I was probably just pissed because I had Ervin Santana on the bench today and he threw a fucking no-hitter. What a D bag.
But I like the deal under two conditions: that his contract is for the veteran minimum and doesn't count against the cap unless he makes the team. And that this move doesn't mean the end of Kevin Faulk.
Because I'd be pissed if it did.
So as long as it's a vet min deal and it doesn't stop the Pats from bringing back Kevin Faulk, I like it.
That makes a shit ton of RBs, though:
BenJarvus Green-Ellis
Little Danny Woodhead
Shane Vereen
Stevan Ridley
Thomas Clayton
Eric Kattani
Sammy Morris
Hopefully Kevin Faulk
Seven guys for probably five spots so good luck to the no names.
