MINOR BREAKING NEWS: Pats Bring Back Brandon McGowan and Tracy White

There are multiple reports coming out now that the Pats have re-signed safety Brandon McGowan and linebacker Tracy White.  Also, they have released rookie LB Anthony Leonard, but nobody cares about that.

I'll admit I don't know a ton about Tracy White, which is pathetic because he was on the Pats last year, but I know he's a solid special teams guy.  And my boy Mike Reiss adds that he was 2nd on the team in special team tackles last year.

McGowan's an interesting case of exact opposites; in 2009, he had a career year racking up 78 tackles with 3 forced fumbles in 16 games, yet last year, he missed the entire year.

So that probably translates into a tryout basically with no guarantee to make the team.  Because that's what tryout means.

I hope he makes the team, though, because he hits like a truck.  He also plays that safety/linebacker hybrid that Bill loses his shit over.

His direct competition for a roster spot is probably Sergio Brown, which sucks because I like him too.

Should make for some good competition and a better special teams unit though.
