Pats Bring Back Matt Light; Fly DT Tommy Harris in for a Work Out

There are perks to staying up as late as a vampire.  And not one of those stupid brooding teenage, geek ass emo Twilight vampires.  I'm talking like 30 Days of Night/From Dusk 'Til Dawn shit.

I'm talking Blade vampires.  Side note - this is the best line I've ever heard in any movie ever.

But enough about epic movie lines, the Pats re-signed Matt Light to a two-year deal late Sunday night.

This is fantastic news for all involved.  Especially Tom Brady's blind side.

I would argue that Matt Light was the top off season priority for the Patriots given the potential predicament that presented itself.

Without Matt Light, Nate Solder (who remains unsigned btw) would've been the first rookie in NFL history to have no training camp and tutelage under his belt before trying to protect the best player in the NFL.

Sounds like a train wreck to me.

But with Matt Light back in the fold, Nate Solder will have plenty of time to develop, which is a much better scenario.

At the same time, Light signing means that the O Line that ended the season will be the same going into this year; Matt Light - Logan Mankins - Dan Koppen - Dan Connolly - Sebastian Vollmer.

That's a pretty sick line.

The Patriots also invited former Bears Pro Bowler DT Tommy Harris in for a visit tomorrow.

He used to be a beast, but sucked last year racking up a whopping 15 tackles in 15 games.

If the Pats sign him, he will probably be used as a depth guy that can take over for Big Vince on 3rd downs.

So we'll see what happens tomorrow.
