Pompei: One or Both of Ochocinco and Haynesworth Could be Cut

Dan Pompei, a reputable sports writer for National Football Post, wrote an article yesterday that included an interesting little nugget:
"Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth might not be long for New England. One day before this story came out by my guy Mike Reiss, one NFL executive familiar with the Patriots ways told me he believes one or both of the big name acquisitions will be cut before the season starts. The front office man thinks coach Bill Belichick will use the controversial players to help control and send a message to his locker room."
First of all, it's important to note that these are not necessarily Dan Pompei's thoughts, he is simply reporting what one executive said.
Second of all, his last name is Pompei. The city of Pompeii was destroyed by Mount Vesuvias in 79 A.D. By the transitive property, Dan Pompei was destroyed by Mount Vesuvias in 79 A.D. So forgive me for not trusting a guy with such a tumultuous past.
Seriously though, it kind of sucks for Dan Pompei because he's legitimately one of the best football writers around. But the "NFL executive familiar with the Patriots ways" was probably a hot dog vendor.
Haynesworth I might believe, but not Ochocinco. I don't think Bill would cut a guy who just received 4.5 million dollars without having played a down for the Pats.
Furthermore,
1) I doubt Bill would trade a 5th rounder and two 6th rounders just to "send a message."
2) I also doubt Bill needs to send a message to team that went 14-2 and is returning all 22 starters.
By all accounts, Albert Haynesworth has been a positive influence so far and Ochocinco has three years left on his contract including this year.
So I'm not worried about it just yet.
