REPORT: Savvy Will Get His Name on the Cup

Great news from Haggs today as he says Marc Savard will indeed have his name etched into the Stanley Cup along with his teammates.

I'm extremely happy to hear this because, not only is it well-deserved, but it is a great ending to a great career most likely.

First of all, Marc Savard was to the Bruins what NWA was to the rap game.  He essentially started the rebuilding process that eventually ended in a Stanley Cup.

Second of all, anyone who doesn't want to hear this, put your eyemuffs on now: Marc Savard's career is probably over.  So getting his name on the Cup is a great way to go out.

Now that everybody is bummed out, let's end with some potentially good news.

From a logistical standpoint, Marc Savard would be an idiot to retire now because his contract would be voided.

Instead, I'm guessing he will take it year-by-year while collecting a cool 4 mil every year.

So the good news is he could always come back if he takes it year-by-year like I think he will.

By the by, if I'm Blake Wheeler, I'm fucking pissed.  The dude played more games for the Bruins last year than Marc Savard and Steve Kampfer combined.

Sucks to be you I guess, Blake.
