10 Years Ago Today Brady Was Born
Today marks the ten-year anniversary of when Mo Lewis and the Jets changed the history of the New England Patriots forever.
I still think that Mo Lewis hit on Drew Bledsoe was the hardest hit I've ever seen.
You don't hear a lot about guys internally bleeding and being close to death after a hit these days.
But Mo Lewis' hit on Bledsoe did just that and so began the Brady Era.
Imagine being a Jets fan back then. You're favorite team just knocked out your rivals' top QB and you're happy as a fucking clam.
Then this scrub 6th-round pick comes in and you're even happier.
Then all of a sudden you're like, "wait a sec, this jamoke's better than Bledsoe?!?!?! You gotta be fuckin' kiddin' me ovah heah! I'm fat, hairy, and smelly. And I am obnoxious, loud, and uncivilized at times that are highly inappropriate."
That's what Jets fans say these days right?
Anyways, this situation of circumstance is exactly why I love sports; because you never know what is going to happen.
No matter what you're intuition tells you, or how many stats and geek ass nerds go against you, anything can happen.
Just like no one thought the 2004 Red Sox would win four straight against the Yanks, no one sat back after Bledsoe's injury and was like, "hey, don't worry, this guy they got coming in is the best QB of all time. Grab me a beer."
That's why when it's all said and done, I will probably have spent about half my life talking about, thinking about, or watching sports.
