Red Sox Season Recap
They sucked. How's that for analysis.
The worst collapse in Red Sox history ended on one of the worst baseball night I can remember.
And I was at the Sox-Orioes game. It was sickening.
Camden Yards is sick but the people there are straight up idiots.
They couldn't care less that the tem theycheer for and gve money to finished dead last yet again. They didn't care that the Orioles haven't eclipsed the 79-win mark since 1997.
All they cared about was the Sox losing and the Rays winning last night. It was pathetic.
It's like, does anybody here know how the F sports work? If you keep showing up, they'll keep being shitty. If you stop showing up, they will acquire talent because they like your money when you shou up.
Not to mention they go bat shit crazy for those little scoreboard games they do in between innings.
Seriously, at one point, they started playing "Sweet Caroline" and were like "please sing with us." Then the music cut out and there was a big sign on the scoreboard that said "NOT!" Then they played whatever hick country song they play.
But that's pretty sad that so many Sox fans go to their games that they had to spend money creating a bit to shut them up.
All in all, the place just stunk of complacency.
But it's not the Orioles fault the Sox sucked this year.
To be honest, I don't know whose fault it is.
You could say Tito, but the players play the games.
You could say Theo, but there wasn't one person in the world that thought the Crazy Carl Crawford signing was bad when the signed him.
If I had to blame one thing is would be the awful, lackadaisical attitude of that team.
You just don't win with that attitude.
That calm, composed, emotionless demeanor is certainly needed in baseball, but we just witnessed what happens when you have too many of them.
So if Theo came to me and was like, "dude, you gotta help me. You are much better than me at arts and crafts and the guitar and I need to know what you would do." I would tell him you have to blow up at least part of this team.
I don't care if you have to deport John Lackey. He has to go.
In my 15 years of watching the Sox, I've never seen a guy get shelled for 8 runs in 3 innings and then stare down the manager as he walks off.
I didn't know something like that was even real.
Also, part of the lineup has to be changed or something. You can't have a 20-million dollar guy switching spots in the order like he's Ed Sprague.
Lastly, you have to go after a top of the line starter. Get rid of Lackey and go after like a CJ Wilson or something.
All in all, this was one of the worst Red Sox seasons I can remember. Everybody started the year saying this could be the best team in MLB history and they didn't even make the playoffs.
If there is a silver lining, maybe a lot of the pik hats will stop following the team now. And maybe Theo will go balls to the wall again this offseason due to how pathetic this season was.
Whatever. I'm done. I'm gonna go try to enjoy the DC Zoo.
