Looking Forward: Post Pearl Jam Era

Honestly, I think the thing I'm going to miss most about Theo is that I won't be able to call him Pearl Jam anymore. Kinda sucks.
Here is the last piece of information I will most likely ever link to about Theo Epstein and this situation.
But the thing that really gets my blood a' boilin' is that this current team has the potential to compete for years to come, but it will all mean jack shit if they don't mesh.
Just to make myself feel better, let's take a quick look at the current state of the Boston Red Sox, minus Pearl Jam and Tito:
Ownership: Woman Zombie John Henry, Asshole By All Accounts Larry Lucchino, and some dude that produced The Cosby Show.
GM: Taking Applications/probably Ben Cherington
Manager: Taking Applications
DH: Probably David Ortiz - All Star/Future Morbidly Obese Red Sox Alumn
C: Jarrod Saltalamacchia/Ryan Lavarnway/maybe Tek - Solid Depth
1B: Adrian Gonzalez - Gold Glover/All Star
2B: Dustin Pedroia - Gold Glover/All Star
SS: Taking Applications/maybe Marco Scutaro/hopefully Jose Iglesias - Future Gold Glover
3B: Kevin Youkilis - Gold Glover/All Star
LF: Carl Crawford - Gold Glover/All Star
CF: Jacoby Ellsbury - Future Gold Glover/All Star
RF: Taking Applications/if JD Drew gets re-signed, I'm renouncing my Red Sox fandom
SP: Josh Beckett - All Star
SP: Jon Lester - All Star
SP: Clay Buchholz - All Star
That's all I need to see. That's pretty much all you need really.
The 2012 Boston Red Sox will field a former All Star and/or Gold Glover AT EVERY POSITION except catcher, shortstop, and right field. Plus, Salty had a very good first full season in the majors and Iglesias is said to be the next Ozzie Smith defensively.
And the 2012 pitching staff is in good shape as well with Lester, Beckett, Buchholz, Bard, and hopefully Paps and Aceves back in the fold.
So when you look at the entire situation, there is reason for optimism on the field.
But that optimism is worthless if the players have no chemistry.
