Did KG Single-Handedly Ruin the 2011-2012 NBA Season? Not for the Celts

Yup.

According to Adrian Wojnar...Woj...Wojnarowski, a source close to the meetings said, "We were making progress until Garnett [fudged] everything up."

Apparently, KG thought it was prudent to try and intimidate the billionaire businessmen across the table like he had so many players before.

From what I've heard, he literally did his pregame hit-his-chest thing, which is just hilarious.

Just sticking out his jaw, trying to intimidate people who deal with negotiations for a living.  Hilarious.

What did he think would happen?

Seriously, did he think they would just start tossing money at him?  Or flinch in fear?

Look, KG isn't an idiot.  Quite far from it actually.  I know many people might see his recent transgressions as stupid, but, if you're a Celtics fan, you should be pumped.

This was an absolutely genius move by KG and I'll tell you why.  And keep up, because I'm about to blow your collective minds.

KG knew the Celts were screwed this year if there was no lockout.  Like they literally don't have a Center right now.

Throw in the fact that the Celtics would benefit greatly with an abbreviated schedule or a year off because most of them are old as shit.

So knowing all that, KG was forced to play the bad guy and disrupt negotiations that appeared to be headed in the right direction.

It was a power move on behalf of him and his teammates.

So that takes care of the "let's not play too many games this year" part, but it doesn't solve the "crappy team" issue.

That involves Dwight Howard.

If the lockout lasts the entire NBA year, Orlando cannot trade Dwight Howard, who is in the last year of his contract.

If they can't trade him, that means when the lockout lifts in 2013, assuming the end of the world doesn't happen, the Celtics will be one of only a few teams that will have A TON of money with a competitive market.

So theoretically, the Celts might be one of the favorites to sign Dwight Howard if there is a full lockout this year.

And if Danny signs Dwight Howard, I guarantee he will re-sign Ray Ray and KG to short-money contracts.

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Ray Allen
SF - Paul Pierce
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Dwight Howard

Boom.
