How Could You Not Win For This Man?
This was a clip from Sportsnet Central tonight where Mr. Kraft was talking about the MHK oil painting that the players surprised Mr. Kraft and his family with.
Usually, that show is pretty dec. But don't get me started on Jessica Moran. I'd like to throw her off a cliff if possible. Hopefully we can get that going. She's just awful at what she does. She clearly reads at a 3rd-grade level and I wish Megatron was real because I would hire him to take her out.
But anyways, I gotta hand it to them, because that was some pretty powerful stuff.
Big Vince, Ty Law, and Troy Brown care so deeply for Mr. Kraft, it's amazing.
And it's not only them, it's Tedy Bruschi being his special guest for the AFC Championship game; it's Drew Bledsoe routinely coming back to Gillette every time Mr. Kraft asks him to; it's Rosie Colvin coming back to lead charity flag football games because Mr. Kraft asked him to; it's Benny scoring the first TD in the Pats-Ravens game and immediately pointing to the MHK patch on his jersey.
These guys genuinely care for Mr. Kraft, his family, his late wife Myra, the organization, and what it truly means to be a Patriot.
(It's the same reason why Jeff Saturday will be a New England Patriot next year. I'm calling it right now.)
This team, win or lose, feels like it is back to the old Patriots ways of the early 2000's.
The days where everyone was held accountable and no one was given a free ride, no matter if you were Brady or Bruschi or Bethel...Johnson.
The days where the league called Mr. Kraft and said, "If your players aren't introduced individually, you're going to get fined. And he said, "Well then go ahead and fine me" because coming out as a team was far more important than some fine.
The days where the players took immense pride in wearing the Flying Elvis.
I honestly think this game could go any way possible. I think the Giants could win a close one or a blow out and I think the Pats could win a close one or a blow out.
But win or lose, the thing I'm most excited about going forward is that we support a team that treats playing for the Patriots as a priviledge and not a right.
Win the game, boys.
End a magical year the right way.
